Spring Family Fling

Spring Family Fling is another great opportunity to visit your Tiger and experience the traditions of Mizzou! Bring the whole family for a low-cost, fun-filled weekend on campus! Beginning in 2017, this weekend includes a range of events and engagement opportunities. The full schedule for 2018 will be announced in March, so stay tuned for more info.

Spring Family Fling 2018 will be held April 13–15, 2018. Below is the schedule so far – we will continue to add events. Make sure you’re signed up for our emails to be the first to know!

Friday, April 13

Tigers for a Cause
  • 2–5 p.m., Columbia Center for Urban Agriculture
  • Tigers for a Cause provides weekly direct service opportunities for students throughout the year with a variety of community partners and projects.
  • Register online
Mocktails and a Masterpiece
  • 3–5 p.m., The Shack, MU Student Center
  • Join the Student Unions Programming Board as they host Mocktails and a Masterpiece. Relax and unwind while creating artwork and sipping Mocktails with your friends and family.
Spring Fling Welcome
  • 5–7 p.m., MU Student Center
  • Join us for snacks and fun in the Student Center to kick off the weekend!
Women’s Softball vs. Auburn
  • 6:30 p.m., Mizzou Softball Stadium
  • Cheer on the Missouri Tigers against the Auburn Tigers. Tickets are free for students. General admission tickets can be purchased at the gate.
Trailblazer Awards*
  • 7 p.m. reception and 7:30 p.m. program, Reynolds Alumni Center
  • The inaugural Trailblazer Awards celebrates outstanding alumni whose achievements and dedication to “paying it forward” have lit a path for others. In addition to our esteemed honorees, special guests include Kevin McDonald, UM System Chief Diversity Officer & MU Vice Chancellor for Inclusion, Diversity and Equity. Hors d’oeuvres and cash bar available.

Saturday, April 14

Caring for Columbia
  • Join us for the largest student-run day of service at Mizzou. Each spring, students, faculty, and staff from all over campus unite to honor the Columbia community in a day of volunteering to say “Thank You” for their continued support throughout the years. Over 1,300 students serve at over 70 sites throughout the Columbia community. Types of service include: park clean ups, working with animals, packing backpacks for children, supporting food banks and many more service projects!

Field Day
  • 9:45–11:30 a.m. (check-in starts at 9:15 a.m.), Stankowski Field (north entrance)
  • Hosted by Caring for Columbia, we invite younger siblings of current Tigers to come and play on Mizzou’s Stankowski Field. Truman even makes an appearance! If you would like to sign your child or your group up, please complete this form. If you have any questions, feel free to email muoslcaring@missouri.edu.
Mentoring Reception*
  • 10–11:30 a.m., Gaines/Oldham Black Culture Center
  • This informal mentoring reception is open to anyone who is interested in sharing advice and information about their career path with current students. No long-term commitment required, but please bring business cards just in case. This event is hosted by the United Minority Network.
Spring Football Game
  • Noon, Memorial Stadium
  • Cheer on the Tigers as they compete against each other in the annual Black and Gold scrimmage.
Women’s Softball vs. Auburn

Sunday, April 15

Black Love Week Alumni Panel*
  • 10 a.m., Gaines/Oldham Black Culture Center
  • The Legion of Black Collegians is kicking off Black Love week with a Breakfast Panel for current students featuring Black Mizzou Alumni.
Women’s Softball vs. Auburn
